Sycophancy
- by Mayuri jibhe
_I would rather a thousand times be a free soul in jail than to be a sycophant and coward in the streets!_
- _Eugene Debs._
If you are not good at being a lick spittle then forget about the pinnacle, mediocrity waits for you eagerly.
Sycophancy is so much appreciated these days or rather I would say that it has always been much appreciated since even before our independence due to selfish nature when Britishers were the rulers. (if you know what I mean).
It is not at all necessary that if you are a servile flatterer then that brings respect in you for that person. Promoting such a behaviour is just bad. It is infuriating, when teaching professionals or anyone who is assigned to a exalted position accepts, appreciates as well as promotes this behavior. Because then, the cycle continues.
Dignified and highly fertile people luring the belittle one's has become a new trend. Many times sycophancy is confused with "respect other people and gain respect" but both are totally different things. Sycophancy is an overly fawning behaviour of a suck-up. You can't simply get your task done by admiring someone.
Practicing this concept in professional life has created a huge impact on young minds.
I can't understand that how can you even admire someone without any reason to take advantage of it.
Instead of cheating or disrespecting the fundamentals one should try to emulate himself! And this is possible only when true leadership exists!
If leaders are true to themselves and if they want their company to reach the pinnacle of success than, they have to let go of the people who are glorifying their fake talents! These people needs to be filtered out in order to give the challenging people a chance of advancement!
People who are honest, hard working and completely dedicated to their work are the ones who deserve to be glorified and adored.
Cause they will be the ones who carry your profession to miracles!
I think sycophancy reveals your true colours and presents dark side of yours. Maybe it is equal to compromising with your self-respect in some cases.
Hence, the ultimate goal is true leadership in every sector of economy! We need to inculcate in our young minds a different perspective to leadership than what we have today.
We need to celebrate true leaders and snub sycophancy, encourage change welcomers in their efforts and say NO to cynicism!
